Murals enliven Kamloops
Painting murals in Kamloops has really encouraged me to believe that this city can change and move forward.
After many years shouting in the wilderness "murals, murals" it is starting to become a reality. Although I am not under the illusion that it's all about me, I am excited.
Send me your idea's for murals in Kamloops.

End of painting season
Painting your exterior in September is still possible but make sure to wait if any surfaces get soaked by rain.
Usually as long as temperatures are above 10 C paint will adhere well.
Stucco is fine to paint even if it's a bit damp, as the moisture actually helps the paint to grab onto the surface.
As always, be careful when on ladders and be aware of electric wires.

Kamloops is moving forward
It's been a wonderful experience to be painting a new mural in the alley between 3rd and 2nd streets on the north side of Victoria.
It signals a change of attitude in this fair town and as this is the second mural in a series of four, shows a committment to beautifying some of the less attractive parts of the downtown.
Come and visit the mural or us at http://www.mercuryminc.net/

Kamloops murals
Although the words Kamloops and Murals seem a distant relation, the Central Downtown Business Assoc has done a great job getting the mural project off the ground.
CEO Gay Pooler has been instrumental in pushing ahead through some restrictive bylaws and antiquated attitudes. The people love it and give positive comments everyday as they pass by our work in progress.

Too hot to paint?
Hot weather needs some organization if you plan to paint the outside of your house.
Latex paints dry very quickly if left in the sun ( in minutes), so always keep the roller tray or cutting bucket out of the sun.
ALWAYS KEEP THE LID ON THE PAINT CAN. Removing the stir stick will also save you a possible spill.
Applying the paint can be difficult as the heat is turned up, adding a little water to the paint is a good way to keep it workable.
Start painting early and plan to be on the shady sides of the house.
Finally, during the many drink breaks and lunch, make sure you cover your roller tray and paint brush with either a wet rag or plastic sheeting so your expensive tools will continue to apply paint thru out the project.
